Bible Study Reflections
Driving to work five days a week, I immersed myself in Bible teachings from renowned Christian teachers like J. Vernon McGee, Chuck Missler, and Andrew Wommack. These private sessions sparked questions and reflections about the Bible, leading me to uncover three transformative lessons that deepened my faith and inspired the creation of these mini reflections. Lesson 1: Seek Wisdom Through Prayer When I encountered a confusing or troubling Bible verse, I followed the guidance of James 1:5: "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." By writing down perplexing scriptures and prayerfully seeking God’s clarity, I trusted Him to provide understanding. This practice of asking God for wisdom not only clarified difficult passages but also strengthened my relationship with Him, fostering a deeper trust in His Word. Lesson 2: Alone time with God and praising His name. “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” Psalm 22:3. The depth of our Christian walk is directly based on our relationship with Jesus. Knowing His name and what He has done does not make a relationship. Time, open hearted conversations, and more time is what makes a good relationship. Lesson 3: Be a Berean—Search the Scriptures It is ok to ask God questions and expect an answer. The Bereans in Acts 17:11 set a powerful example: "These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so." Their diligence in studying the Bible to verify teachings inspired me to adopt a similar approach. I learned not to accept anyone's teachings at face value but to verify the truth through personal study. This conviction—that truth must be sought and owned personally—became the foundation for my faith and the inspiration behind these mini reflections. I encourage you to become a Berean, research the scriptures to find out whether these things are true. We hope these reflections inspire you to open your Bible, seek wisdom, and grow closer to God every day.
